Majuun will present From Fiber to Form at Peace Boat's Ocean Gala in New York, a sustainable fashion exhibition in celebration of United Nations World Oceans Day and the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
Jute is biodegradable, carbon-neutral, and one of the most water-dependent crops in the world. It moves through the hands of farming communities and women who spin it into yarn, and becomes the handwoven bags we make. That connection between natural fiber, artisan livelihoods, and the environment around them is the work we will be sharing at the Gala as part of broader conversations around ocean conservation, climate action, and sustainable innovation.
The Ocean Gala brings together UN partners, impact investors, blue economy leaders, advocates, and changemakers for a night of music, art, and fashion centered on ocean conservation and climate action.
